Australian Visas

Skilled Visas
You must be highly skilled, hold a post secondary qualification [unless you can demonstrate you have extensive, highly specialized skilled work experience in a 60 point occupation] and have good English. As these are point tested visas, you will also need to have sufficient skill points to test the pass mark.

Business Visa
To apply for business visas, you have to demonstrate:
A successful history of business ownership or investment
Substantial current net assets accumulated from that business ownership or investment
A genuine intention to own and operate a business in Australia or to invest in government bonds for at least four years

If you are over 45 or do not have good English language skills you will be required to obtain sponsorship from a State or Territory Government, most of which impose their own requirements for sponsorship.

Partner Visas
Australian citizens and permanent residents may be able to sponsor a foreign partner if they:
are married
engaged to be married
living together in a de facto (common law) relationship, or
living together in a same sex relationship

Different rules apply depending on whether you are living in Australia or overseas, the length of your relationship, and whether or not there has been a previous sponsorship.

Family Visas
Sponsoring a relative to come and live in Australia is one of the most important decisions that you can make. Relatives who you may be able to sponsor for migration to Australia include:
Parents who pass the balance of family test
A Parent, child, brother, sisters aunt uncle, nephew or niece who is under 45 and who has specific work experience and skills or, if you live in a designated area, your cousin or grandchild
A child, brother or sister who is the last member of your family living overseas
A parent, child, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, nephew or niece or grandparent who is single, over 65 and who has been financially dependent on you for a reasonable period
A parent, child, brother, sister, aunt uncle, nephew or niece or grandparent who is coming to Australia to provide care for you or a member of your family that cannot reasonably be provided by anyone else in Australia
A dependent child
The number of family visas issued each year is limited, and delays in processing are common. Selecting the right visa category and ensuring that the application is expertly completed will mean faster processing.
